HIV saved my life. Consistent blood testing alerted my doc to kidney function declined which lead to an MRI and cancer diagnosis. Because it was caught at an early stage, the kidney was saved and my prognosis is excellent. Without early detection the cancer would have grown without symptoms. By the time there were symptoms, prognosis would be poor. HIV saved my life. It’s not all doom and gloom.
