That doctor should be de-certified. He compares non-medical grade brass/copper picks (probably recycled from AC units) to birth control rings made from hyper-pharmaceutical ultra-pure copper. Next the doctor (and you) misses the point that it is not the copper directly - it is the anti-oxidant ability of copper to protect cells from apoptotic cellular death which allowed drug induced mutated cells to live long enough to multiply. I hardly think this doctor is credible.

Medical grade copper protects against some cancers while upregulating others. Eddy Van Halen died of cancer with clear lung scans even though he drank smoked weed & coke profusely. He used a copper pick to play guitar. But he used his mouth and teeth to hold the pick for 40+ years. His first cancer started in the exact spot on his tongue where he held the copper pick. My further guess is that the pick protected his lungs, but the drugs exposed his tongue & throat to mutation.

If Eddie was “playing” with the pick using his tongue (see Michael Jordan for weird tongue positions while dominating), that’s a rough surface and might have irritated the spot daily (which allowed the smoking/etc. to affect that spot). Why is pick rough? Those unbeatable EVH plectrum rakes and scrapes, that’s why. Cmon, docs, no rigid pronouncements - per Osler, the patient knows something...
