Thank u for sharing. Yes u were able to get the best of care. I had a autologous SCT. At a top ranked cancer center. Chemo drug prices are outrageous. For some places u can get charity care and special funding for expensive drugs. Sad that the Mayo Clinic will not take Medicare alone. Not sure if u have supplemental and Medicare if they will take a pt. Thankful for good insurance. Dx at 63. Let’s cure this awful cancer.

This is a journalist that I have always, always appreciated. He will call it straight, every time. If something is unfair or if their is a disparity, Mr. Brokaw will call it like he sees it. Love this guy!

4 weeks ago my husband was diagnosed with multiple myeloma. One of the drugs was $25000 a month but our copay was over $2300 every three weeks. The cancer center told us about the foundations that have grants for this disease. We applied and found one that covers 2 of our drugs. If you find yourself with an unbelievable cost, be proactive and apply through your cancer center. Also check with the cancer society since private jets are not included but people donate miles
