I was so touched by your story. I too had my third routine mammo in May 2016 . All clear. Then stage 2 diagnosed December 2016 and hardly a lump just a strange sensation. . My doctors said this is all too common. They blame it on dense breasts. It’s time better screening became the norm. Good luck with your on going recovery.
I too found a lump in April 2016. Had a mammogram but no sonogram. They said everything was okay and to continue with annual mammogram. By December 2016 the lump was still there. I went for more extensive tests and biopsy and turns out I have stage III breast cancer. I was 54 years old. No history of breast cancer in my family. I was completely devastated because I too have always went to the doctor and had mammograms regularly. It’s been a long year but have finished my treatments.
Welcome Sister to the club no one ever wanted to join! Got my diagnosis this September. Was luckier than you, Grade 1 with no lymph involvement. Guess if you have to have breast cancer, Grade 1 is a good diagnosis. Have used my cancer diagnosis to encourage all women friends on Facebook to get a 3D mammogram. Did not feel a lump, so mammography was the only way to know. I have had 2 surgeries, and begin radiation Monday. Looking through the tunnel toward the light.

1997 routine mano stage 3. 17 of 22 nodes positive. Before they had diagnostics for type. Mastectomy, 4 rounds adrimiacin, cytoxin, 5fu. Stem cell transplant, radiation. Still here! Stem cell was a clinical trial. Thank my M.D. !
