SATURDAY, MAY 11, 2019
9:30AM – 11:30AM (STAGGERED START)
YANKEE STADIUM, ONE EAST 161ST STREET, BRONX, NY
Join us on Saturday, May 11th for the 11th annual Runyon 5K, a unique cancer research fundraising run/walk that uses Yankee Stadium as its course. Run or walk the concourses and ramps, climb stairs between levels, and take your own victory laps around the warning track that circles the field! You’ll even appear on the Jumbotron!
You can participate as an individual or get friends, family members and colleagues together to form a team. 100% of the donations you raise will support innovative cancer research by today’s best young scientists, funded by the Damon Runyon Cancer Research Foundation.
REGISTRATION FEES
$45 through May 2 (rate extended!)
$60 from May 3 through May 10
A reduced entry fee of $25 is available for children ages 5-12. Please note the minimum age to participate in the Runyon 5K is 5 years old.
CHOOSE YOUR OWN START TIME
The entire Runyon 5K route is inside Yankee Stadium and is narrower than a traditional road race, so participants’ start times must be staggered to avoid congestion and ensure everyone’s safety. You can choose your own start time when you register, but please keep the following in mind:
- Only select Heat 1 at 9:30 am if you plan to run competitively at a 6-minute to 7-minute mile pace.
- Heat 2 at 9:40 am, Heat 3 at 9:50 am, and Heat 4 at 10:00 am are for runners only.
- All other heats (Heat 5 at 10:10 am through Heat 13 at 11:30 am) are available for runners and walkers to select on a first-come, first-served basis. To ensure everyone’s safety, participants who are walking in Heat 5 or subsequent heats should position themselves in the back of the pack at the start line, while runners should head to the front. Walkers should stay to the right, allowing runners to pass on the left.
The last heat is currently scheduled for 11:30 am. Additional heats will be added if necessary. While adjustments can be made, team members should check with their team captain prior to registering so you can choose the same start time as the rest of your team.
