The American Cancer Society is the leading cancer-fighting organization with a vision to end cancer as we know it, for everyone. We are the only organization improving the lives of people with cancer and their families through advocacy, research, and patient support to ensure that everyone has an opportunity to prevent, detect, treat, and survive cancer. ​

The Windy City Golf Classic is the longest-running Chicagoland golf event benefiting the American Cancer Society. In 1981, William T. White, Jr initiated the outing as a community golf tournament to support the American Cancer Society. The outing was named in his memory after he lost his battle with leukemia in 1993. It has since moved forward to the American Cancer Society Windy City Golf Classic to honor all of those currently fighting cancer and memorialize those that lost their battle.
