Bladder Cancer Awareness Month

May is Bladder Cancer Awareness Month. Bladder Cancer Awareness Month was first recognized by the U.S. Congress in May 2015 as a Senate Resolution sponsored by Sen. Robert Menendez (R-N.J.), and was the result of lobbying by the Bladder Cancer Advocacy Network. BCAN has been organizing the annual Walk for Bladder Cancer event since May 2011; prior to that, bladder cancer awareness had been observed in July.

According to the American Cancer Society, bladder cancer is the fourth most common cancer in men, but less common in women. See Cancer Health’s Bladder Cancer Basics page and news and information about bladder cancer. Find out more about the bladder cancer community from BCAN.
