World Cancer Research Day
World Cancer Research Day is a unique opportunity for us to become aware of the importance of research. Because, have you ever thought what would happen if cancer research stopped today?
One of the main challenges in the fight against cancer is further developing and boosting cancer research as an essential part of slowing the progression of the disease and further improving survival rates and quality of life for those affected. Estimates show that cancer will be the leading cause of death in the coming years with an increase to 21.6 million new cases each year by 2030 according to estimates from the IARC.
The main goal of this initiative is to raise society’s awareness so that it pushes it forward and gives recognition to cancer research efforts. On the other hand we aim to help keep societal and institutional commitment to cancer research alive.
This historical day will give us the opportunity to increase awareness and further commit to carrying out coordinated actions as widely as necessary in order to push cancer research forward.
