Following are some volunteer opportunities, but please feel free to suggest other ways you would like to participate.

Helpline Volunteers and Support Group Facilitators

Helpline volunteers provide telephone support to people affected by breast or ovarian cancer. Requirements: you must be a breast or ovarian cancer survivor and you must be trained. Volunteers can work from the SHARE office or from home in the daytime, evening, and on the weekend.

Support group facilitators lead and moderate one of SHARE’s support groups. Responsibilities include beginning and ending each session, listening to attendees, providing encouragement, and furthering conversation among the group.

Other Volunteer Opportunities

Office

Maintain databases, make phone calls, send mail. Requirements: daytime availability, good telephone manner, computer skills and general office ability.

Special Events

Assist with fundraisers, programs, and presentations, including event preparation, meeting and greeting, and distributing SHARE materials.

Professionals Needed

Particular need for writing/editing, public relations, and finance.
