“Today, Gov. J. B. Pritzker signed paid sick leave legislation into law. This legislation will provide paid time off to eligible employees in Illinois which will help reduce the burden of cancer in our state. The state program would allow more individuals to take time off work to attend to their own or a loved one’s medical appointments and health care without losing their job or income.

“Regular check-ups, preventive care and important cancer screenings often require time off from work. The flexibility to balance health care and employment is essential which is why ACS CAN thanks the legislature and Governor for passing this important legislation and calls on the legislature to pass paid medical and family leave to further reduce the burden of cancer.”
