When You’re Nauseous, Skip Your Favorite Foods

Many chemotherapies, as well as radiation to the stomach/abdomen or brain, can cause nausea. Anti-nausea medications help, especially if you take them as prescribed (before you feel nauseous)—it’s hard to play catch up otherwise. Eat plenty of ginger and mint in food and drinks. Ginger chews are good too. Take a walk if you have the energy—it helps control nausea as well as fatigue. But avoid your favorite foods.
